Prior to his impactful role at British American Tobacco (BAT) Caribbean, Christopher demonstrated his leadership acumen as the Managing Director of Demerara Tobacco Company in Guyana, where he successfully steered the organization through various challenges and opportunities.
Christopher has built a distinguished career at British American Tobacco (BAT), where he has held several high-ranking positions that accentuate his expertise and leadership in the field. Notably, he served as the Head of Legal and External Affairs for the Caribbean, a role that encompassed a vast region of 22 countries across the English, Dutch, and French-speaking Caribbean. His journey with BAT began in 2009 when he took on the role of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Carreras Limited, the Jamaican subsidiary of BAT. His experience also includes overseeing BAT’s operations in Suriname, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and effective leader in the tobacco industry.
Christopher’s multifaceted career reflects a deep commitment to excellence and a profound understanding of the intricacies of both corporate governance and public policy. His ability to bridge the gap between these two realms has not only enhanced his professional stature but has also positioned him as a key influencer in the industry. As he continues to lead EveryData Jamaica Limited, his vision and expertise are set to drive the company forward, making a significant impact on the landscape of data solutions in Jamaica and beyond.
In this capacity, he not only managed corporate governance as the Acting Company Secretary but also acted as the Area Manager for the Cayman Islands, where he was instrumental in overseeing sales, trade, brand marketing, and commercial operations. Beyond his corporate achievements, Christopher has made significant contributions to the public sector in Jamaica, serving as an Advisor to the Minister of National Security and as the Policy Director for Electoral and Parliamentary Affairs. His diverse experience is further enriched by his research work for the CARICOM Secretariat and his eight-year tenure as a Tutor in the Department of Government at the University of the West Indies, Mona, where he shaped the minds of future leaders.
Christopher has played a pivotal role in advancing national development through his influential positions on various boards, notably as the Chair of Jamaica’s National Horse Racing Company and Caymanas Track Limited, as well as his leadership at Cumberland High School. His educational background is impressive; he is a proud alumnus of Calabar High School and has earned a Master of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations in Trinidad and Tobago, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Economics from UWI, Mona.
