Greetings citizens of South East St. Mary

I am Christopher Brown and I am pleased to introduce myself as the People’s National Party (PNP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency of South East St. Mary.

I am a product of the constituency. My mother was born and raised in the districts of Camberwell and Georges Hope – communities where I spent my early childhood being nurtured by my grandparents, extended family and the kind people of those districts.

Having completed my studies at the University level, I returned as a volunteer to the constituency working closely with former MP Harry Douglas, and as an active leader over the last 23 years. Professionally I have served Nationally in various leadership roles in the public and private sector, and led companies across the Caribbean.

South East St Mary has one of the highest levels of youth unemployment in Jamaica. Its heavy rural terrain also places it as one of the constituencies with the lowest levels of internet and telecommunication connectivity across the entire island.

My vision is to create a constituency where persons can thrive and lead productive and healthy lives.

We will achieve this through my infrastructure modernization agenda which will attract investments, businesses, opportunities and jobs and become the platform for development and growth. We will:

1. Modernize the infrastructure of the constituency by creating an urban centre, and modernizing the markets, transport centre and health facilities.
2. Deliver consistent access to potable water, upgrade and expand our housing stock, and urgently upgrade our road network.
3. Drive economic transformation by establishing a cultural centre, a technology centre and fostering “grass roots ecotourism ventures” combined with the modernization of agriculture.
4. Modernize the infrastructure of the constituency to attract and facilitate new investments and jobs.
5. Provide the means for our youth, young professionals, farmers, workers, children and elderly to live in communities that are decent and first-class, with access to modern amenities.

I seek your support as we work together on this new developmental agenda for the constituency.
